The top two models for business use with a focus on typing experience are ThinkPads. Be mindful now, as ChatGPT could even recommend Apple MacBooks instead.

I need to remind you, the build quality on the Asus is quite poor. This applies not only to the external casing but also to the internal construction and their RMA service. It would have been wise to investigate further. I received an ROG Zephyrus M16 (2022) GU603, which I initially thought had a minor issue with the motherboard—since the laptop wouldn’t power on but the CPU was overheating. It turned out a third of the processor had a defect, requiring either a CPU replacement or a full board swap. The CPU would have cost around $400 plus labor. My client paid $2,600 for it, making it a costly burden. I advised against proceeding because this model has a high failure rate. I have access to detailed information from various vendors and repair shops, including the official ASRock service center, which has facilities comparable to those seen in the Gamers Nexus AI Black Market GPU video.

It’s not just about Asus’ laptop line; it’s about the entire company.

My typing experience with all ThinkPads over the past 15 years has been excellent. If you choose a more premium laptop from Dell, consider the Precision series rather than the XPS range. When your laptop arrives, it would be beneficial to share your experience here—this could help others facing similar situations.

Yeah, don't pay attention to AI, you'll end up piling on your pizza with glue. ASUS used to be decent but has really slipped in recent years.

I've had the ThinkPad now for 24 hours and let me tell you, the keyboard experience is just as good as any ThinkPad I've ever had. The key travel is perfect, resistance is perfect, all the keys are in the right place. My only complaint so far is that when turning on the key backlight, and it's on my lap when I'm on the couch, there is significant light bleed from under the keys at an angle. The laptop feels durable, tight and the lid moves with proper resistance. So far, am loving it. Now, for the rest of the story. I found an open box at Best Buy on a Lenovo Yoga 9i with an Ultra 7, 32GB, 1TB, OLED panel for $1272. I bought that too, so I can compare a new Yoga machine with my new ThinkPad. I could save $200 by going with the 9i, so I guess we'll see what happens when I receive it later today.

I wouldn't buy a Lenovo, so my views are just that—I don't want to hear them. I prefer the Dell Precision/Pro Max line instead.

I've only experienced issues with Dell Precision devices at work. They frequently malfunctioned, leading to significant lost productivity. Dell is known for using low-cost parts from unreliable suppliers, resulting in inconsistent quality. What you receive is what you get.

I now possess the new Lenovo 9i along with the ThinkPad X1, and I must commend the typing experience on the 9i. The ThinkPad X1 isn’t great, but it’s still quite solid, and I’m confident in my ability to type there. It shares the same backlit keyboard problem as the X1—light spills from beneath the keys when I view them from below, especially while sitting on a couch. I don’t remember the X1 having this issue. I’ll need to check it out myself. The new models seem to have shallower key edges.

It seems you can apply the Lenovo Employee Pricing Program to Yoga devices too, which is why I purchased a new 9i from Best Buy for around $1350 with a 3-year warranty and battery replacement. The unit is available directly from Best Buy for $1750. This means I’m saving roughly $400 compared to the new 10th gen X1 2-in-1. Have you ever compared these models? What are your impressions of consumer Yoga devices versus business-oriented X1s?
