Hello, this is my initial attempt at a PC build since I'm not familiar with it. I require a machine for virtualization (at least 15 VMs simultaneously), AI tasks, and video editing, along with large file storage. Approximately 10TB is needed, with room to expand up to 30TB. High memory write and read speeds are essential. My budget is around 1400 euros (or about 1537.11 dollars). The build should be straightforward, excluding the monitor, mouse, keyboard, OS, and only include wireless and Bluetooth features. I won’t be using it for gaming, and I’m not focused on its appearance—just performance.

Here’s what I have so far, but it’s still incomplete. I’m currently over budget by about 300 dollars, and the RAM is insufficient. 😟

I need assistance to select the appropriate hardware because this is my first project. Everything is flexible, but for AI tasks I must use an NVIDIA GPU.

Given the current challenges with Intel, I wouldn't consider purchasing a 13th or 14th generation processor. Although they say the issues are resolved, it's still too soon to confirm. If you're inclined to stick with Intel, make sure to update your BIOS to the most recent version. The PSU isn't adequate for such a setup, the motherboard is quite expensive, and you don’t need a Gen 5 SSD. The Founders Edition 4070 is also overpriced. Honestly, your budget doesn’t cover the level of system you’re aiming for—this fits better within your means.

Thank you, I'll consider this when planning my build and it might mean my budget isn't quite enough.

I plan to utilize both Linux and Windows, though Linux is predominantly my choice.

Does the backing for AMD graphics cards perform more favorably on Linux compared to Nvidia cards?

32GB is clearly insufficient for 15 VMs. Would a 64GB mini PC be better? You can pair it with any external storage option you prefer (USB or NAS)?
https://www.amazon.com/s?k=64gb+mini+pc
Sorry, I didn’t notice you required an Nvidia card for AI tasks.

Yes, AMD graphics cards provide stronger Linux compatibility. But since I'm not familiar with PC builds, I'd value your guidance on this matter.

When prioritizing AI tasks above Linux functionality, an Nvidia card might be the best option available.

You may even want to use a 2x48 gb kit of RAM that would mean you can do up to 6gb of RAM for each of the 15/16 VMs. The 14700 CPU I linked has 8 P-cores and 12 E-cores which means you could assign 4-P cores and 12 E-cores to the VMs with some room to spare.
I will be the first to admit that I do not know much about using more than 1 or 2 VMs for anything so I may be off the mark with your specific use case. Let me know.
Here is a new build to reflect the above reccomendation. I also was able to add in a CPU with more cores (13900f) and a 2x48gb kit of RAM at the cost of a different motherboard, lower storage, and slower RAM. The overall build is about 100 euros closer to the budget than the previous build.
