I've been considering a wireless controller for my iPad for some time now, and recently I learned it will be free for Amazon Prime members. That makes me even more tempted. I'm just a casual gamer, but since I travel often, it would be nice to play whenever I can.

The original Luna controller includes a chip that connects directly to WiFi and the cloud-based Luna ecosystem, which helps lower latency.

I have a few questions:
1. First Person Shooters aren't my main focus, so would I really gain from the lower latency with the original controller?
2. My iPad games are native, and I've noticed the Luna controller isn't always the best option for those, which makes me think about getting a more affordable generic one. I'm aware these might not always work well but maybe someone has firsthand experience to share?
