You're thinking about whether the upgrade makes sense given your current setup and local pricing. The new i7 6700K is priced around $70, which is significantly cheaper than the i5 6600K you can sell for about $170. Since used parts are more expensive in your region, this could be a smart move. Your current system has a GTX970 and 16GB RAM, but performance issues appear in certain games. Upgrading might help, but if you're planning to wait for sales or need more features, a full rebuild with a Ryzen CPU, faster RAM, and better hardware might be worth it.

Look for places to resell an i5 at a lower price than Ryzen 4000 or Ryzen 3000.

I’m skeptical about receiving another 6700k from Aliexpress. It probably comes from a broken system and then checked. Better to save for a more reliable machine.

I’m offering an i5 processor with plenty of RAM, plus the $240 you mentioned. Perfect for upgrading your setup to a more modern configuration!
