Hi!
I'm checking if my I5-11400F can support an RTX 4070 or 4070 Ti. I see some users with this CPU have RTX 3090 or even 4090 without problems. If I get an RTX 4070/4070 Ti, should I also upgrade the CPU?
I mainly play games that are heavy on graphics, but occasionally do a few CPU-heavy titles. I rarely play games that require both high CPU and GPU power, like Valorant, though 300-410 FPS works for me.
OS: Windows 11
CPU: I5-11400F
Power Supply: be quiet! System Power 9 CM 700W
(New purchase from 8 months ago)
Storage: Samsung MZVLQ512HALU-000H1 512GB
Motherboard: Asus TUF GAMING B560M-PLUS WIFI

Update your post with complete hardware details and operating system information.
Power supply: make, model, wattage, age, condition (original, new, refurbished, used)?
Hard drive(s): make, model, capacity, current usage?
In general, the power unit should be able to manage sudden spikes in demand.
The entire system must be evaluated for compatibility and performance.

Additionally, it would be wise to hold off and wait for the 4070 super to become available around January at CES 2024. It could be beneficial if the rumors hold true.

The Be quiet pure power 9 isn't an ATX 3.0 model and isn't considered a strong power supply. You'd want a Tier A model with ATX 3.0 specifications. The PSU tier list rev. 17.0g from Cultists Network can assist in selecting the optimal PSU among numerous options available. Whether you're on a budget or seeking top-tier power supplies. cultists.network

Sure, let's clarify that.
It seems like you're asking whether a GPU can operate properly with the given PSU.

the 4070 might cause issues with the PC when the power consumption is high.
the RTX 3000 and 4000 models have a temporary power draw reaching up to 200% of their rated GPU power.
thus, a 4070 could draw between 400 to 450W for brief periods and this could overload the PSU if it's not suitable.

What tier a PSU would you suggest? You mentioned needing something modular and affordable.
