I don't have personal opinions, but I can share common criticisms people often mention about recent macOS releases. Many find updates like Catalina or later versions to be overwhelming due to frequent changes and new features that can be confusing for some users.

Top worst version of Mac OS X? 10.0 (Cheetah) with 13.8% votes. Other entries show lower scores and fewer votes.

macOS wasn't significantly better than Windows. Many longtime users online mentioned serious issues with macOS/OS X back then, but overall it feels like a solid platform. I recall when Lion was released, a lot of older users were frustrated. The system started resembling iOS more. There are plenty of reaction videos on YouTube that amuse me. I didn't own a Mac until around 2012 or so. For me, the most stable version was Mavericks. My machine had 5400 rpm drives, and I noticed it became much smoother after installing Mavericks. The biggest problem with High Sierra was its high number of bugs. Simple as that.

If the root password had a vulnerability, many would likely be making light of it in discussions about Linux.

I understand. Mavericks provided enough stability for professional work, at least for me. I recall music producers still stuck on Mountain Lion who refused to move forward due to concerns about AU/ VST plugin reliability. After that point everything seemed hurried. Mojaive has performed well so far. However, challenges differ depending on the level of dedicated use people have.

OSX El Capitan eliminated many APIs causing widespread issues, particularly with audio apps and drivers. The initial release was riddled with bugs, making it the most problematic OS ever for users. Older devices faced frequent kernel crashes and program failures due to API changes. A security feature called SIP was added, significantly complicating system file edits. Updated December 6, 2018 by __brigde SOMENAME*. Added a point.

It seems you're referring to a file from around 2007. The version 0.97 mentioned appears to be outdated. The link points to an older archive, possibly from a previous release.

I often make a joke about it. It's the perfect way to tease the arguments of Apple supporters who claim Mac has strong security.

This article clearly distorts the meaning of SIP. The link points to a HowToGeek guide explaining how to disable System Integrity Protection on a Mac, which is unrelated to the actual topic.
