I initially intended to study video game design, but after exploring more, I realize the industry may not provide the fulfillment and stability I expected. Are these concerns valid? Is it wise to abandon a gaming career path?

It's challenging. Large corporations set tight deadlines which can be overwhelming, whereas smaller startups face financial struggles and staff may go without income for long periods before projects begin. The situation varies by location, but passion is essential. It might be rewarding.

I'm focusing on game development lately and reflecting on similar ideas. Staying engaged with the topic matters—whether you're coding games or designing other elements. For instance, I also work on websites, mobile apps, and other software, just as a backup plan.

According to connorpiper, the field can be challenging. Collaborating with a small team often involves limited budgets, extended work periods, potential job loss, yet offers closer involvement in game development. Employing a major studio such as Ubisoft may provide higher compensation and stability, but you could spend much of your time on basic tasks like texturing and might face criticism for using outdated methods.

You're looking for success through money rather than passion, and you'll likely fall short. Unless you're among the top players, even then it's a tough market and you'll probably end up losing to big names like EA.

Shift your profession to an electronic technician! A passion for coffee, limited social interactions, unexpected electronics appearing around you, a curious interest in alcohol, and a desire for fewer romantic connections are sure signs of success. Or consider joining R&D, where the pressure is intense and customers expect quick results—like expecting nine mothers to deliver a baby in just one month! On the side, I might need a pause.
