I've been using Wd blue 2 tb nvme ssd for some time, but it's getting quite full. I added a 1tb sata ssd to improve performance and moved old video files I no longer use. Since the new ssd is in my PC, it's running slower now. Opening Chrome takes a few seconds, Premiere Pro sometimes crashes during startup due to boot time, and scrolling through video file properties on NVMe Explorer often freezes. After upgrading to the new SSD, system specs show Intel i5 12600k with 16gb and 32gb options, Corsair Vengeance, Windows 11, Wd Blue Sn570, and PnP CS900 (269gb free of 931). Only unused footage files remain.

Execute CrystalDiskMark to observe its performance metrics. Then proceed with further testing. For example, disconnect the PNY SATA cable from the motherboard and check if system speed improves.

I removed the SATA SSD and the problem persisted.

These numbers match what you'd anticipate for gen3. The performance of the drive remains satisfactory there. There seems to be another problem elsewhere affecting this.

I’m fine with a slower process, but I’m curious what could lead to File Explorer crashing when opening certain files.

The problem seems to be elsewhere. Likely the RAM is the cause. Your performance is very high, so the SSD appears to be working properly.

I'll try a different configuration of RAM to check if it's the problem
