Hi there. I just got a puppy and sadly left my laptop unattended, which caused it to jump on the screen and break it. I tried fixing it myself and turned it into a small project. My first idea was to take out the screen and build a mini gaming PC. After opening the laptop and removing the battery, I left it open for a while because of upcoming exams. When I came back yesterday, it wouldn’t boot at all. Instead of shutting down, the fans started spinning fast and didn’t slow down. The backlight, RGB keyboard, and Caps Lock keys aren’t working. There’s no BIOS light or beep code. I’m worried it might be a BIOS corruption issue, but I haven’t checked yet. Anyone have suggestions? I really want to use this powerful laptop as is. I also shared a similar question on HP community support, but didn’t get any help. OMEN 16.1 inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-c0000 (343L4AV) AMD Update: After further testing, it seems the IO devices aren’t responding, no sound plays, and I can’t post anything. I think the BIOS might be corrupted, though that’s not confirmed. Edited November 17, 2023 by oliverhiggins71
Sorry, it seems the system couldn't process the request. There might be an issue preventing it from posting.
Consider running a CMOS reset. Disconnect or remove the CMOS battery, let it sit for a while, then reattach it. This often resets the BIOS back to default settings.
