This notification shows up when you click on a recovered document, and it seems to ask what action to take.

It instructed to return the ASD to its original position. Which section is unclear?

I made an upgrade to my PC. It's unclear if that qualifies. Also, yes, I installed Windows from scratch.

If you performed a new Windows installation, all previous files would need to be recovered from backups. Please clarify the details of the setup process. Did you completely erase the partitions or simply set up the system without wiping everything? What was the state of your disk before the installation—were there files, backups, or other data present? It’s difficult to determine the best way to restore the files without knowing their original locations.

In short, before deleting the drive, I saved a folder to an external hard drive containing these word documents, and then moved them again to the new build, which likely explains why they can't be found now.

Do you remember any portion of the file name of any of these docs?
If so, use a search tool for that partial file name on your entire drive.

And I will inquire regarding that "transfer": did you opt for Move or Copy?
