The latest Wolfenstein was among the earliest single-player titles I completed. I really liked the narrative experience.

It's a Bethesda title, so you'll need Steam. Even with a disc version, it would still require Steam. Having the game on a disc is great, but physical media can wear out. Previously, I managed to run Steam games offline once, but last time trying one of my older discs it crashed completely.

That's interesting. My older discs work just fine. I can also play them offline. It's really cool you own the software you buy. Perhaps you should test a different CD-ROM drive? Sometimes I discover a burned disc that doesn't work on one system but does on another. It might be related to the laser technology.
