I recently started playing Wolfenstein: New Order after roughly two months and observed significant performance issues: laggy mouse input, extremely low frame rates, and overall sluggishness. Previously, I ran it at high settings with around 40 FPS, but now it's completely unplayable. The only time I manage to get a reasonable frame rate is when using windowed mode. I own an MSI Ge62 with a 5700hq, 960m, and 16GB RAM. I attempted to revert to the NVIDIA driver two months ago, but that didn’t resolve the problem. Additionally, my GPU usage in full screen remains relatively low compared to windowed mode.
