I'm sure many of you haven't forgotten FB's acquisition of Oculus. It could impact them in the future because FB is a publicly traded company, so shareholders can influence decisions freely, potentially restricting who can develop games for Valve. Valve is a private company and isn't bound by such rules (e.g., no HL3 yet). They've already shown great progress in VR technology, even helping Oculus with projects like Persistence. As it stands, they're quite advanced, so what do you think? Should we wait for a Steam HMD release, or go for one now? I'm leaning toward waiting and observing but favor a Steam-based solution.
Currently I don’t really care about the VR buzz. Everything is still in development and there’s no clear useful software on the market. A big breakthrough from publishers investing in VR would be needed before I’d consider trying anything. Thinking about which product to take is pointless right now. Probably because of all the hype around Kickstarter, early access, and pre-orders. Just wait for a release and see if it’s worth checking out and has solid backing. Of course, I appreciate the concept and the general conversation, but I’m more interested in actual products than discussions.

I’d enjoy experiencing VR DayZ. Titles built around the Arma engine appear suited for VR since the visuals stay consistent across perspectives. The free exploration feature could be managed effortlessly in a virtual environment.
