This kind of RPG hasn't worked for me before. It seems American RPG developers should study more about combat from Japanese creators like the devs behind Devil May Cry. Even classic titles such as Onimusha offer a superior battle experience, and Shadow of the Colossus has a much better horse riding mode so far.

I really liked Devil May Cry. No long waits between scenes. I played it on the console too.

Yeah... but the last DMC was a huge error. DMC4 is still my top choice. I really like dante, and they messed it up with DMC5, haha.

He didn’t seem like someone who would really stand a chance. It wouldn’t have been about skill or danger—it’d just been about taking a random person’s life if you could. I’d have preferred more options in the gameplay, not just talking choices. Maybe let me choose to leave quietly or fight him directly.

Yeah... the conversation is all jumbled. Completely no change. It’s just saying "let go" or "give me more details, then let go."

I didn’t care about that segment at all. I’d already battled him as Ciri; gaining more satisfaction from fighting him again as Geralt wouldn’t matter. According to T6kke, he wasn’t a serious threat, so it’d just be another encounter with his minions. Geralt is famous as the Butcher of Blaviken for taking down seven skilled fighters in one go—someone in his underwear won’t stand a chance.

Also includes the impressive creatures he tracks and eliminates. These represent the main challenges in the game.

Witcher is developed in Poland. The combat feels solid enough for my preferences, especially since I believe the game aims for a more authentic sword-fighting style. There are a few issues with lengthy combos that can trap you in repetitive actions.

I believe the game could improve significantly by merging engaging sword combat with DMC’s fast slicing and intricate techniques. The Witcher battle system isn’t terrible, but it becomes monotonous after more than two hours of play. You’d likely repeat the same actions repeatedly without variation. Riding a horse feels quite poor in this title—poor handling and uninspired design. Despite its weak environment quality, they should highlight it more effectively, similar to how Shadow of Colosus did. When Colosus had its impressive graphics for the PS2 and presented them well, that was a strong example. If you haven’t tried this game yet, checking it out on YouTube might be worthwhile. It offers a solid horse-riding experience (the best I’ve seen so far).

This tends to apply to most titles as well. You didn’t need to adapt your strategies against certain matchups like drowners versus humans. I haven’t played SoC but watched it on YouTube. Mounted movement feels quite fluid, though it stays flat on solid ground. With Witcher, the terrain is often messy and Roach tends to get stuck, but open fields or enough space make it much easier. You can defeat most obstacles without being hit while riding. My insights about using mounts come mostly from Skyrim and some MMOs where they’re not useful for combat. In Skyrim, they were just really frustrating, so I opted to walk instead.
