Hey guys, it feels a bit late for this question but I just bought Witcher 3 during the summer sale and wanted to give it a try. People said the graphics are really good and my computer is strong enough so I turned up the graphics settings to their highest level. Basically, I've been in Novigrad for a while and I'm getting some texture loading problems. It could be a general issue because the game takes way too long to load compared to what it should do with my specs. My main trouble spots are parts of the map that show up black on the minimap, which matches areas where textures are loading super slowly or flickering constantly. I also sometimes have to wait ten seconds for the next line of dialogue, even though it was normal when I first started playing. It takes about two minutes just to load a save file too. I've looked at lots of forums and most of them talk about mods, which I don't have and might affect me. Many of those problems are caused by slower hard drives or SSDs, but I'm using a PCIe Gen 4 SSD that's free. Here is my computer setup: CPU: Intel Core i7-12600K GPU: NVIDIA RTX 3080 Motherboard: Gigabyte Z690I DDR4 RAM: Trident Z 3200 Power Supply: EVGA Supernova 850W SSD: WD Black 850 1TB I haven't been super hot on the temps, CPU around 55 and GPU around 70. The SSD gets a little hotter at 80 if that matters. I also have videos showing what's going wrong. First video shows textures not loading right, second video shows dialogue taking forever to load since it shouldn't take so long. Thanks way ahead of time for any help!

Have you turned on the Resizeable Bar? Maybe that helps get better textures. But it looks like there might be a decompression issue instead, making things take a very long time to load the tent model or even read one sentence of text.

I don't know exactly what the "resizeable bar" is, though I do see a few issues with it. It's weird how hard it is to find a good line of dialogue for it. Sometimes things are perfect with Novigrad, but not always.

You can use a special bar to let the CPU talk more data with your GPU. Usually it's 128K of space. But the standard PCIe rules don't allow big chunks unless you turn them on. If you want this, check out what NVIDIA says about their new RTX 30 Series cards for the Founders Edition and some laptops. Visit www.nvidia.com to find more info.

I see some texture flickering and it looks like that distant object is popping in, but it's way too close. Are you overclocking anything? If yes, just reset everything to default no matter what the temps are. Do you get this behavior when you run Time Spy or Fire Strike after running them back to back at least four times?

I haven't really pushed the processor speed up much, but when I used Precision X1, Boost Lock came on for a while and I set my own fan speeds too. Another problem that has been happening since before was with the nvlddmkm.sys file. Sometimes the computer would suddenly stop working or lose all video signals, forcing me to turn it off completely, wait a few minutes, then restart it so things worked again again. This happens at random times and I can't always tell exactly when it will happen next time. In Windows Event Viewer I see messages saying they rebooted because of a bugcheck 0x116 or error code 14, but there is no BSOD (Blue Screen of Death). Also in my computer's system32 drivers folder the file nvlddmkm.sys doesn't exist and I don't know how to get it back because I just figured out where it was. Oh well, this is probably a different thread for now, thanks for helping!

It seems your computer might be acting up because of bad software or system files. This could be making things like games not work properly. You should try running special tests on your CPU, RAM, and graphics card to see if that fixes the problem, or wipe out everything you have and start fresh with a clean install instead of just repairing it.

Hey there, have we talked about this before from your old posts? It looks like this is still going on, probably because it's an OS problem. I guess these issues usually come together, so fixing Witcher 3 won't work until we find the real cause. Have you tried wiping and reinstalling Windows completely? Do you know if you own that hardware or not?

I built this system back about three months ago and had a similar issue before. When I swapped out my power supply, everything worked great until just a while ago. After that, I reset my computer by reinstalling Windows. Then I stress tested both the CPU and GPU for temperatures, ran Prime95 and AIDA64 for maybe two hours each. I didn't check my RAM or change Windows because the system file check (SFC scan) said everything was fine. So I never thought about resetting it again.

I haven't used this exact computer before, even though I reset the Windows settings but I'm not 100% sure it's completely clean. Also, I own another hard drive and I don't know if I should delete everything or just reset the system because we didn't do that last time.
