Did you cover the additional $0.99? When purchasing the GTX 970 on Newegg, obtaining the Witcher 3 requires choosing the 'Free Gift' option, which oddly adds that extra $1.

It seems you likely received the game with a surprise bonus—underneath the purchase note it mentioned "Free Gift Witcher 3 WIld Hunt," probably an error.

I understand, I’m based in the UK and haven’t used Newegg before. If you can’t locate it on any of your emails, give them a call for a faster and clearer response.
