I'm playing Witcher 3 at high settings with 50 FPS (about 60 if I turn off hair styles). Occasionally the game freezes completely. My system runs an AMD FX 8350 at 4.3 GHz, a Gigabyte GTX 960 with 4GB RAM, and Corsair Vengeance 8GB at 1866 MHz. I'm using the game at 1680 x 1050 resolution and have never experienced freezing until the latest patch 1.04 was released. Any advice would be welcome.

I’m not familiar with TW3, but TW2 would perform the same action with plenty of saves. Do you have a large number of saves? Have you attempted to remove many of them?

I've learned that many users are experiencing CTD problems after applying the 1.04 update.

Disabling frame limiting in the settings aids in preventing crashes. Switch to the unlimited option. It doesn’t stop crashes completely, but reduces their frequency significantly.
