Witcher 3
Hey there! I’m curious about your interest in Witcher 3. Since it’s on sale for 30 CAD until tomorrow on Steam, you might want to check it out. You mentioned liking Skyrim and RPGs that focus on skill and equipment growth—those are great choices. Regarding performance, with an AMD FX-6300 and 8GB RAM, the game should run smoothly, though it may feel a bit CPU-intensive depending on settings. It’s not overly demanding, but keep in mind your graphics card will play a big role. Let me know if you need more details! Thanks!
Do it. It is an amazing game. I am plying it on a 6700HQ and 960m at 1080p and medium settings.
it'll perform pretty well. though in places like novigrad the 6300 may struggle a bit. also i recommend holding off for the GOTY edition
W3 offers an engaging experience, though it doesn't match Skyrim in direct terms—they originate from distinct RPG traditions. Skyrim is an open-world adventure with extensive player freedom, while W3 focuses on character-driven gameplay with a tighter structure. You can't simply skip the tutorial and dive into unrestricted activities like you might in Skyrim. Both games perform well on most systems, thanks to their scalable design and customizable menus that let you adjust performance and visuals to suit your preferences.
It's quite different from Skyrim, but it offers an amazing experience with a compelling narrative. I run it at 1080p using a GTX 1060 and an i7 4770k that's been overclocked. Most of the game runs smoothly except for hair, and high foliage performance is good. I consistently maintain around 60 FPS. Just remember, you don't get to craft your own character or story—just play as Geralt of Rivia and face tough decisions.
All reviewers concur this film reflects Bill Nye’s perfect take on The Witcher 3.
I spent around 250 hours on the game using a GTX 770, while the 1060 runs significantly faster. I believe it can hit about 60 FPS at maximum settings without Nvidia HairWorks. It tends to be CPU-intensive, so you might not keep steady 60 FPS in crowded city areas, but overall performance should remain solid except for slight reductions. It’s a standout single-player RPG. Just remember it offers less freedom compared to titles like Skyrim—it's more structured. The Witcher 3 is a tightly designed experience (which suits me) and lets you play as a defined character with a set backstory. As mentioned, the GoTY Edition costs $50 and drops on August 30, matching the current price of The Witcher 3 plus the Expansion Pass on Steam. That makes no sense to wait for. Still, if you’re not ready for the full scope, you can wait and buy it later when you decide how much content fits your needs. They only offer a 15% discount.
