I was in Flotsam during looting a chest when the screen went black and I ended up back on the desktop. My mouse disappeared too. After a short time, I was back in the game. Anyone know why this is happening? I’ve overclocked my GPU, could that be the reason? The music kept playing while I was on the desktop. Thanks.

Check the temperatures on your GPU and CPU, along with system load and junk. Also, verify the file validation as requested.

Temperatures stayed stable, never exceeding 60 degrees. CPU readings remained below 40. Usage was minimal since I was using V-Sync. Crashes were frequent in that range, but I replaced the card back to stock temporarily because others mentioned Witcher 2 problems with high overclocks. It didn’t really matter as V-Sync was active and the overclock didn’t affect performance.
