Hello, my initial experience with mesh networking was... underwhelming at best. The Wi-Fi didn't maintain a stable 30 MBPs, let alone my actual internet speed. Now I'm looking for a better option, which means a wireless mesh setup due to building materials and budget limits. I'm open to suggestions, but I don't want Netgear since their support isn't great—especially with the mixed reviews from Nest WiFi or Amplifi HD.

I own an Amplifi HD that covers a half-acre nicely. I’m using AT&T fiber with full 1Gb wired speeds and anywhere between 40Mb to 220Mb throughout the property. I’m also checking out Google’s mesh network setup—my ex uses it and gets full Wi-Fi without relying on Comcast’s 300Mb service, though I haven’t tried it outside the house yet.

Google's mesh network has been renamed "Nest Wi-Fi" following their acquisition of Nest last year. I've been checking it out, but I'm leaning toward the Amplifi since it offers four Ethernet ports compared to Nest's single port. Avoiding a switch makes sense too. The subreddit is filled with frustrated users, which adds some concern—especially since remote work has made stable home Wi-Fi more important than ever.

Speeds are extremely consistent and dependable. I’d prefer stronger Wi-Fi coverage overall. A mesh network paired with a strong router such as the NightHawk would likely provide similar results in most situations.

I purchased it today and am hoping it performs better. Do you have any advice?

It's really straightforward to get started, especially with the Amplifi app. Have fun with the exclamation marks!
