Hey everyone, I’m checking if a router is necessary with your wireless LAN controller. I want to know if the controller can handle router tasks so I can keep switching access points without hassle. I prefer using existing hardware and might just need a wlan controller instead of a full mesh system.

The WLAN controller handles the WAPS management, but a router is still required.

I don't have a specific answer to that, but generally, access points and controllers can work across brands depending on compatibility standards. It's best to check the manufacturer guidelines for interoperability.
