I own some Airpod Pros that I use with my iPhone and iPad, where the connection is smooth because they always pair automatically. I think this is due to Apple devices having a built-in pairing chip.

Could anyone suggest a method to ensure wireless headphones are always connected to a Windows PC? I need them for work—watching videos and making calls—and I dislike cords. The Airpods don’t seem to work well with Windows, often causing audio issues like crackling or sync problems.

I’m hoping this isn’t a general problem with wireless headphones. Please recommend alternatives that function similarly to wired headsets, require minimal pairing, and provide the same experience without needing to switch Bluetooth settings frequently. My goal is to have a seamless setup just like using a traditional phone.

bluetooth on windows can be challenging, so id suggest using usb wireless headphones...earbuds are more likely to work with bluetooth. well, in the case of windows and bluetooth, if it functions (if) then it’s straightforward—pair the earbuds, turn them off, then back on—everything works as expected (similar to mobile devices). however, when it doesn’t work, it usually requires removing the device, re-pairing, and sometimes reinstalling the bluetooth driver.

I believe the problem lies in the compatibility and pairing challenges between Apple and Microsoft products, beyond just Intel/AMD specs. Apple devices operate within a closed ecosystem, making them tightly suited only to their own hardware range. I had to return a pair that simply didn’t work well with Android. Switching to Samsung buds resolved the issue completely.

Regarding other concerns, @kerberos_20 is correct. Using a USB dongle or a specific adapter designed for your headphones could fix the pairing problems. Similar issues appear with many Bluetooth gadgets like controllers and keyboards, which often need re-pairing after each PC restart. My experience suggests that wired headphones remain the most reliable option when paired with a PC.
