Hello,

I’m attempting to connect my PC to my Xbox One X using Miracast. I've successfully displayed my computer’s screen on the Xbox, and I can control the cursor with my mouse, however, I'm unable to launch applications or interact with anything on the Xbox’s display. I’ve experimented by enabling keyboard and pen input on my PC, but this completely disables the controller, resulting in a loss of the mouse pointer. I’ve repeatedly restarted the connection process, yet I only ever reach the point where the Xbox shows my desktop with a mouse cursor controlled by the right analog stick, and beyond that, nothing occurs. I’ve also tried pressing all buttons on the Xbox controller, but there is no further action taken.

I would greatly appreciate any assistance you can provide.

Miracast isn’t intended for device management; rather, it functions as a method to duplicate an on-screen display across different locations. Consequently, it fails to operate effectively. To manage your computer, you must still utilize a wireless mouse/keyboard or another input device of your preference. The image displayed on your PC will be replicated to your television, and that concludes the process.

Revise your previous message and incorporate detailed computer hardware specifications and operating system details. Also, be aware that within Windows 10 (if used), you can access Xbox and gaming controller configurations through “WIN” + “I” > Gaming. Relocate this message to the PC gaming forum.

I recently resolved the issue, my computer was sending its display to the Xbox, and this caused all functionality to cease unexpectedly. Switching to a mirrored display allowed the A button to function as a left-click.

I believed that I could play PC games through streaming to the Xbox One, but it appears the controller does not operate as a standard input device on the Xbox—which is quite perplexing. Is there a method to utilize the Xbox controller as a gaming control when broadcasting games from my PC to an Xbox One X?
