Hi everyone! I hope everything is going well. I’m relocating to a new flatshare and won’t have a direct cable from the router to my room. The only practical choice left seems to be Powerline adapters. Would this work for gaming or streaming on Twitch? Also, do you have any suggestions for specific models that fit the UK market? Thanks! Powerline Ethernet offers a significant upgrade over Wi-Fi, delivering reliable performance similar to true Ethernet. TP-Link could be a strong contender for this upgrade.

The powerline adapter works well for me, delivering speeds up to 200 Mbps. The issue with these adapters is they perform best when connected to the same circuit; otherwise, speed drops. I suggest checking your Ethernet connection speed—do you need gigabit or 100 Mbps?

No, it most definitely is not as good as wired. There's a multitude of posts on this forum about it performing worse than WiFi. In absolutely ideal scenarios (good home wiring and on the same circuit, over a short distance) it might be good enough and better than WiFi, but there are no guarantees. Nothing is as good as wired ethernet.

It seems you're reflecting on a fortunate situation with your wiring. That's definitely something to be proud of!
