I have my router upstairs and my PC in the basement. I’m trying to run a cable from the wall to the ceiling but it’s taking too long. I ran out of Ethernet cable even though I used a 150-meter length. Could you suggest some USB or PCI WiFi adapters? I usually play Fortnite or watch Netflix, and my budget is really tight—just paid for my first college tuition and I’m struggling.

I wonder if I should shout "holy crap, how large is that spot" after 150 meters. It seems unlikely to succeed, since the range tops out at 100 meters without additional repeaters or switches every 100 meters. Are you certain WiFi coverage will actually work across such a big area? We must determine the router's frequency or version to be sure. Ideally, I’d pick something compatible with 802.11ac for long-term security. If it’s USB, opt for a model with an external antenna for best signal. For PCIe options, you could mount one on your PC or buy one later, as these units often come at higher prices.
