Wired versus wireless – what’s best for 2018? Would you choose the cable if it were convenient? I prefer wired connections.

Wired connection and I didn’t have much access. I mostly installed the wiring in about five rooms, using outdoor-rated Cat5e cables, drilling through exterior walls, installing RJ45 connectors and plates, and adding an unmanaged high-speed switch after the router. It really paid off. Even though my home is single-story and modest in size, the Wi-Fi signal dropped significantly between rooms. While wireless has improved, it simply can’t match wired performance in terms of stability, consistent bandwidth, and low latency. It solved most of the streaming issues for smart TVs everyone was using. For me, it also reduced my gaming lag noticeably. If you want a reliable connection, spend a bit of time and money on wiring—it’s worth it.
