I use Centrylink Fiber Internet with 1GIG speeds going both ways. I can get about 600 Mbps on my Wi-Fi devices, which is good. However, my wired computers only get around 2.8 to 3.5 Mbps up. That feels really slow. Even when I plugged my laptops straight into the router via Ethernet (using Mac and PC), it was still the same problem. I tried many different wires and they didn't fix anything.

I used a small EERO device as both modem and router, logging in directly with PPOE to get internet. When I talked to their support team, they were confused. We unplugged that little EERO and connected my original ISP's modem and router instead. After testing again on the old setup, the problem stayed fast on Wi-Fi but was still slow on the wired laptop connection (nothing else was plugged into Wi-Fi at the time).

I called their support team, and they were pretty dismissive. They didn't really listen to my complaints. They just told me to get a new modem and router from them. I'm not sure if that will help or if it will make things worse. My main question is: anyone else have any ideas? What should my ISP look at when I call back? Why is Wi-Fi so fast while wired speeds are this crazy slow single digits?
