The announcement about Microsoft integrating the full Linux kernel into Windows 10 marks a shift toward more native Linux functionality. This approach aims to deliver a seamless, non-emulated experience within Windows, allowing users to execute Linux commands and run full applications directly. It represents an evolution beyond previous methods like Wine, offering potentially improved compatibility and performance for Linux software on Windows.

WSL focuses more on developers. I work with EFI and WSL makes things simple since I can use both Windows and Linux tools during compilation.

Sure, I understand you're asking about Wine and whether it supports GPU access with WSL2. It seems you're curious about the software versioning for Wine and its compatibility with GPU features in WSL2. Let me clarify that.

It seems WSL2 is managing a virtual machine with excellent integration, likely running its own kernel. I suspect you're not directly accessing the native GPU. Possibilities include CUDA support or GPU passthrough (if enabled in Windows 10).
