Consider keeping the windows.old folder if you still find value in it, since deleting it would remove useful data. If you’re satisfied with Windows 10 and don’t need those files, it’s safe to delete them.

Remove only what’s necessary for a fresh setup. Files stay elsewhere after the installation.

You might need to clear the SSD cache or check if the files were partially written before they disappeared. Consider using a different partition or running a disk cleanup tool.
