Use Disk cleanup to eliminate it, or else you’ll retain unused files in the registry that can hinder your system’s performance!
Interesting discovery. I used CCleaner, which unexpectedly deleted the Windows.old folder. I wasn’t aware of that action. Otherwise, Disk Cleanup would be a good option.
As others noted, you remove it by executing Disk Cleanup with administrative privileges or using CCleaner.
