The PC is set to change soon, but it really hinges on several factors—when will Dad hand me the 100 euros for a new PSU and SSD? Will I actually spend it, or something else will come up first. 8/8.1—I still dislike how it looks now, especially with the Metro interface. 10—In my country, most software is pirated, and security problems are rampant (why would M$ make it so simple to turn off features they took months to build). 7—it’s all about the RAM. Once this is upgraded, I’ll likely install XP. I don’t know why everyone’s so worried about “no support,” but it’s fine for a PC used only a couple of times a week.

I focus solely on Windows topics. If you doubt my insights, well, that’s okay. I’m not concerned about what others are doing. Enjoying pirated content is fine for you. On the other hand, choose wisely—purchase legitimate products.

The most effective approach is to investigate the games you wish to play and test their performance across different operating systems. Occasionally they run flawlessly, while others might require enabling compatibility settings or finding simple solutions. Some could also encounter issues that remain unresolved. Consider trying a dual-boot setup between XP and a more recent OS if certain titles don’t operate smoothly on newer versions.

I updated my XP machine roughly six months ago, including all service packs like E8400 and WoT. I'm planning to run XP again with a bit more RAM. Modern systems with newer GPUs or W7/10 can handle DX10/11/12, but XP will only support DX9, which may limit performance for those games.
