I’m looking into ways to upgrade a Windows XP system with the latest Microsoft patches targeting the Wannacrypt worm (MS17-010). It seems Microsoft has extended support to XP, though the standard Windows Update notifications aren’t showing up. On their site, only Vista and newer versions are listed. I need guidance on obtaining and installing the update for XP.

Challenge the idea—if Microsoft doesn’t support your OS, there must be a valid reason. Using third-party sites might work, but it carries risks.
