You're thinking carefully—maybe it's better to stick with Linux. At least Ubuntu would support it, and that would reduce your worries about security.

I don't believe Linux supports Age of Empire or Red Alert. However, if it does, I'll go for it.

I'm not certain. I only use Linux occasionally just for entertainment. I don't know which games work on it.

In general, you can't simply take a license away from someone because it's linked to your particular device. It only works if the right person has access and contacted the company to enable it elsewhere.
