I experienced similar problems with the Dell XPS 15 9520 running Windows 11 Pro. Recently, after a system restart prompt appeared at the bottom right, I clicked on the details and restarted again. During that process, a firmware update was triggered. After restarting, my two external monitors stopped working—my main 32-inch 4K display failed to activate while the other remained functional. Earlier, I encountered the same issue by visiting the Intel website, downloading the Iris Xe graphics/arc driver, and it resolved the problem. Recently, while watching a YouTube video, the audio cut off briefly after a short playback. I closed Chrome and reopened it, then tried playing another video on YouTube. The sound either stopped completely or played for a moment before cutting out again. In Device Manager, under Sound, Video & Game Controllers, I saw a yellow exclamation mark next to the 2nd HD Audio Driver for Display Audio. It seems this driver issue might be causing the audio problems. What should I do to fix it?
I clicked right on the exclamation mark and it displayed the General HD Audio Driver details. Device type: Sound, video, and game controllers. Manufacturer: Intel Corporation. Status: Audio Bus Driver. Windows stopped this device due to reported issues (Code 43). There are driver info, updates, and events available. On the Events page, it says "INTELAUDIO with xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx requires further installation." Should I go to the driver tab and choose update, disable, or uninstall? What should I do next? I tried updating by searching on the computer, and it showed the latest version. Recently downloading Intel Iris Xe graphics from the official site might have caused problems. This link leads to the download: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/...ndows.html After the Windows update, my main external monitor stopped working again. It happened months ago too, and after installing the driver, it fixed for a while, but now I’m experiencing sound issues.
