Windows update caused DisplayPort failure.
Hello everyone, I just acquired a new PC and decided to reinstall Windows. I performed the setup without an internet connection; everything seemed normal until two minutes after connecting the Ethernet cable, my monitor went dark and displayed "DP not responding." When I attempt to restart, the motherboard logo appears first, but the Windows logo with the loading circle returns immediately. At the time of purchase, the system already had Windows installed and was functioning properly. My PC has the following specs: Asrock B450M Pro4-F Ryzen 5 2600 Zotac GTX 1070, 1x8GB Corsair DDR4, 1x8GB Kingmax DDR4 500GB Kingston M.2 SSD, Seasonic GM 500 +80 Gold ASUS VA24D monitor. I connected an HDMI cable to my TV to try updating the drivers, but the issue persists. If I switch to an HDMI cable instead, it doesn't work (I changed the settings from DP to HDMI). Additionally, I've tried unplugging both the monitor and PC for a few minutes before reconnecting, but nothing has changed.
Check for any display output such as HDMI or DP. Use DDU, uninstall the graphics driver, then reinstall it from Nvidia's official site.
You connected an HDMI cable to your TV, but the display issue persists. The HDMI connection functions correctly, yet when you try to view the monitor, only the motherboard logo appears before the screen becomes blank.
Do you have another device to try? It could be your screen having issues. There might also be a mismatch between your resolution settings and your monitor/gpu. You could have unintentionally increased the resolution during an update. When I switched from an rx580 (1080p native) to a rx 5700xt (1440p native), it wouldn’t show windows on my 1080p screen, so I upgraded to a 1440p model. Check that.

Until now, I used this monitor with an old quadro gpu connected with dp. I've tried to connect the monitor to a laptop using hdmi but it did not work. I will try now to reinstall windows on my old pc to see if the monitor works there with dp. I didn't change any setting for the resolution on the gpu so I don't know if that is the problem. It worked fine until I plugged in the ethernet cable for the first time after installing Windows. Update: the other pc (with the quadro gpu) works with the monitor connected with dp. However, that pc is super old, Windows did not find any drivers for that gpu and neither did I (nvidia quadro 2000). Update 2: Went to the store and got 1 DVI-D - HDMI cable, 1 DP - HDMI cable and 1 HDMI/ VGA adaptor. The monitor doesn't work with the DVI - HDMI cable or the DP - HDMI one but it works with the HDMI/ VGA adaptor ( the VGA cable goes in the monitor then the adaptor goes in the gpu. Also, the DP - HDMI cable works with my TV (DP in the gpu and HDMI in the TV). I still don't get what the problem is but I will soon get a second monitor (maybe a 4K one) and we'll see then if the gpu and my monitor don't like each other
