So... Windows kept pushing another update and it turned into a total mess. I’m okay with updates for some programs, but I always set my PC to install only after checking what I need. When I opened up, I saw the start screen appeared first thing, which made me confused about why my computer restarted. After logging in, I realized the system had been upgraded to "Windows 10 v. 1703 - Creators Update..." I didn’t start that one. In short, nothing with DirectX, Vulcan, or gaming features is working properly. With DOOM, the launcher crashes before the credits even start, Battlefield 1 stays black unless I power off the PC, and all other games just won’t launch. I own 5TB of Steam games... Why is COD: AW the only one that works? I really think this isn’t a hardware issue, because everything was running fine before I went to sleep and discovered the update. Anyone know what’s happening? If you do, please help!

The developer has released an update for all my PCs, and everything is functioning properly from my side. However, a clean install was performed so this might be the reason. The new update system also lets you postpone installations for up to 365 days. For your current problem, I don’t think your 5TB of games will be on the boot drive yet, will it?

I haven't seen this problem before, but maybe something went wrong. Various factors could be involved. Fixing it would likely need you to review crash reports. The simplest solution seems to be rolling back the update. In Windows 10, threshold updates offer a recovery option—Settings → Updates and Security → System Recovery. The available choice gives you the ability to revert changes.

I sense your concerns stem from infrequent software refreshes. Please ensure all drivers are current. Your gaming experience should function properly. Windows 10 will still update automatically, regardless of preference. You can manage this by adjusting active hours or temporarily pausing non-essential updates.

All storage is stored on HDDs inside a SATA III hub connected via USB 3.0 close to your primary system.
