Windows struggles to start and requires a fresh installation.
Hello, I've been searching online for two weeks now without success. Recently, I upgraded my system to the x570 with 3700x, but so far I've only encountered problems. Launching into the 1903 version of Windows 10 seems to work for a couple of days, but after that I can't access it anymore. I'm stuck watching spinning orbs for an hour before the system just stops and says driver pnp watchdog or driver powertrain error. I've reinstalled the OS twice on both 1903 and 1803, but after two days I'm still stuck. I've only updated the GPU drivers and MSI afterburner, and all my games still run fine on old HDDs. Rolling back updates isn't helping. My memory test showed no issues. I'm losing my patience after two weeks. The system seems to be failing to restore, and only a clean install seems to work, but I have to do it every couple of days now. I've also tried two different SSDs and a fresh copy of Windows 10 Home 64, plus the older 1803 update. So far, only Windows Defender is installed. Latest BIOS and chipset drivers are installed. My specs are: Asus Prime X570 Pro 3700X, 16GB Kingston DDR4 3200MHz, MSI GTX 1080, Samsung 850Evo SSD 2TB, WD HDDs, Logitech G403, Grace design headphones, Dlink USB to Ethernet dongle (the Ethernet isn't working without it because the L211 drivers won't respond).
Unplug your previous storage devices and test using just your boot SSD to observe the outcome.
I haven't tried it yet. It's worth checking. Unfortunately, I had to do a clean install already, but if it happens again soon I will. Could you ask why you think the drives might be the issue? Cheers
They confirmed MemTest ran without issues, and the BSOD suggests a problem with the OS setup, probably due to conflicts with previous HDDs.
These issues during a crash signal a possible conflict, likely related to older hard drives.
Ofc, sorry. Your setup includes several components: an Asus Prime X570-Pro 3700X with 16GB DDR4 RAM at 3200MHz, an MSI GTX 1080, a Samsung 850Evo SSD 2TB, a Logitech G403 Grace design headphones, and a Dlink USB to Ethernet dongle. Your setup also involves an HDD with two SD cards and a Logitech G403 Grace design headphone amplifier. The Ethernet connection works only when using the dongle, as the L211 drivers don’t respond without it.
Fast Boot should be turned off first. Later suggestions about updating problematic drivers might apply. Consider disabling automatic driver search.
