Hello everyone, I’m trying to resolve this problem. My computer freezes after sitting idle for a while, but the mouse still works. I can press the restart button, yet it keeps looping back to the same screen without actually restarting. I have to force shutdown or use the reset option every time it won’t work. I checked forums online but didn’t find any useful solutions. The troubleshooting steps I tried didn’t help: turning off power states, setting high performance mode, disabling overclocking in BIOS and Asus AI Suite III, disabling EPU and away mode, running sfc/scannow, and updating all drivers. Also, my Windows is a fresh install from about five days ago, and I have the latest specs: an i9-13900K CPU, Asus ProArt Z-690 RAM, 128GB DDR5 4800MHz memory, Corsair 1200W power supply, Noctua NH-U12A cooling, Windows 11 22H2. I’ve attached some screenshots of my build.

I’d check the event log for hints about temperature, memory issues, or resource problems.

This was one of several problems I encountered with my 5900X setup. It worked for a few weeks before freezing in sleep mode and intermittently failing to post with no video every 8-12 cold boots or random crashes. Eventually, I swapped out the RAM, GPU, and storage for another board and processor, which resolved the issues—I even saw improved performance. Interestingly, the replacement RAM wasn’t properly QVL'd for either board or a previous one with a different SKU, which also had problems. Ultimately, both boards got kits from their respective QVL lists and the issues disappeared, with better speeds afterward. It’s worth noting that my new kit matched the original specs in timing, density, capacity, and advertised speed, but it still needs manual timing adjustments and can’t reach its full 3200 MHz POST speed, settling at 2400. The machine still runs, though. RAM stability varies a lot depending on board, processor architecture, and RAM setup. I recommend checking the board manufacturer’s site for more details instead of relying solely on manufacturer claims or reviews. Updated November 3, 2022 by An0maly_76

You’re dealing with four distinct memory types, three key ones that differ, and an unfamiliar term called “apacer.” It looks like a server board setup—possibly with more than four components since there’s extra space visible. I see references to RAM slots: six for tri-channel and eight for quad-channel memory. The documentation I’d check is labeled “hardware events,” but the memory issue seems to be the main problem. It’s possible it’s not the case. Did you find any kits, or were all parts single sticks? All seem around 32GB, so testing with one should suffice. Updated November 3, 2022 by Bombastinator

Each item purchased is unique; no bundles available for 32GB. Attached photo shows the packaging.

I even removed AI Suite 3, assuming the issue came from that software, but the same problem persists. Even though I keep working on the PC, it doesn’t occur while I’m using it. It only appears when I take it off. Anyone have any thoughts?

It seems this item isn’t what it should be. You’d expect a 128MB version, but it looks like a much larger package. That makes Uber’s spending look expensive. Finding it on Amazon from a-tech for $680 plus some confusing taxes is pretty odd.

It looks like a small measurement or fraction reference, possibly indicating a specific length or portion in a recipe or diagram.
