Hello. I've noticed it freezing a few times recently. When I move the mouse, clicking doesn't work, but pressing Ctrl+Alt+Delete brings it back. It's happened around five times in three months, and it seems to occur randomly. I've checked Task Manager for performance issues, but nothing stands out. A RAM test showed no problems either. I've run virus scans and avoided risky sites or downloads, so a malware problem seems unlikely. There was a mention online about mouse issues—deleting the "Hid Complaint" under Mouse settings might help? Not sure what that does. My device manager shows three entries, but my Windows is up to date. Since it's rare and fixes instantly when I do that, I've learned to accept it. Still curious about the cause—it's tricky to test because I can't control when it happens. My system runs on an i9-11900K with 3.50GHz, 3504MHz, 8 cores, 16 processors, 32GB RAM, and my SSD is a 3080 TI GPU.

It seems Windows Explorer might be lagging, possibly because of software damage. An in-place upgrade could resolve the problem if that's the case. There also appears to be a mouse-related issue—only one mouse plugged in should show up as three in Device Manager. What is the model and brand of your mouse? Have you attempted to remove all three HID-compliant drivers?

Uncertain about what an in-place upgrade means. The mouse is a Steelseries Rival 5. Just connected it. I haven’t attempted removing the three HID devices.

It seems you're unsure about removing two mice from your setup. Let me clarify the situation for you.

No solution found yet. I attempted to remove a hidden compliance feature for the mouse, but it only turned it off completely. I had to use my keyboard to restart the computer. After rebooting, the mouse functioned again, though it eventually reset itself and stopped responding. Right now, I believe a full system reset is my next step. I’m puzzled about the random freezing issues and don’t have time for another fix. If anyone has suggestions, feel free to share them.

Have you refreshed the chipset drivers? The motherboard's PCH manages many USB devices and certain PCI devices. It’s worth looking up updates on the manufacturer’s website.

It's late to say. I couldn't resolve the issue after testing various solutions. I ended up performing a complete reset of my computer, but that didn't help. This morning my desktop froze and I had to use Ctrl+Alt+Delete again just to get it working. After updating the chipset via the Armory Crate package, my keyboard letters stopped functioning and I had to rely on on-screen input to regain access. Now, somehow I can type again after bypassing the password screen at startup. I'm going to take it to a local repair shop to see if they can assist with this. Also, the HID compliance indicator still shows more than one mouse and keyboard. Not sure if it's related to SteelSeries or something else... *table flip*
