Sometimes when I lock my laptop (HP Folio 13), the sound gets silenced in Windows. I can turn it back on by increasing the volume or using the mute button, but I wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this before. It's a Windows 7 Pro system with the latest drivers, and I don’t use any third-party software for this purpose. I’m aware there’s a tool for this, but I’m trying to stop it from working. Any advice?

I haven't come across anything similar before, and I'm not sure how to resolve it, but best of luck!

Looking up information shows that many users experience total loss of sound when locking or sleeping, while my situation is different. It's unusual and doesn't occur consistently.

It seems like a possible issue with the driver or another software application.

Several aspects may be affected, such as functionality or performance. A driver reinstallation could potentially cause issues if not handled properly.
