Downloading .iso files isn't automatically illegal. It appears the issue lies elsewhere. You've installed several legitimate operating systems from ISO files, including Windows versions. The problem might be with your burning or mounting process. Are you using a disc or a USB drive?

Consider using a different port—try USB 2.0 if you're using USB 3.0.
