I received my new motherboard and then BSODs. IrQL not less than or equal, K-mode exception, etc. Formatted disk setup. Created a USB Windows installer. Ran computer recovery attempt, followed by PC diagnostics, then BSOD. Mostly IrQL not less than or equal.
If other options don’t work, use the Windows Media Creation Tool to set up Windows. However, remove any partitions before installation if needed. The tool can handle this automatically. I faced the same issue before and had to reinstall Windows while deleting the partitions, which finally resolved everything. Good luck!
Before we move to hardware verification, check the BIOS settings and set default values. Your board might be running at an overclocked CPU speed. We need to eliminate any hardware problems first. Steps: 1. Install with one RAM stick; if that fails, test the other. 2. If neither works, swap the SSD. 3. If that doesn’t help, try a different card. 4. If still no success, switch the PSU. 5. If that fails, change the CPU. 6. If all else fails, replace the motherboard.
If you encounter a BSOD while using the WMCT, there are likely underlying issues, probably connected to the BIOS. As mentioned earlier, open the BIOS and verify that everything is set to DEFAULT. After that, attempt to use the WMCT. Ensure only essential devices are installed—just the boot drive, GPU, and CPU. Avoid unnecessary additions like RGB lighting, extra hard drives, or additional GPUs. Once this is done, please share your experience in the forum and let us know the outcome. Please refrain from overclocking at all; we aim to get the machine running first. If needed, clear all partitions on the boot drive during the process so WMCT can install Windows properly. tried all options: only vga 1dram 1ssd and psu worked. nothing else functioned. updated the official chipset driver but it didn’t help. the issue is with WMCT—it attempts to repair the PC and then boots BSOD. important note: i bought it used, possibly misleading. seller showed videos showing it works with r9 3950x. i connected just the 8pin CPU power; do I still need a 4pin connection?
Additionally, I configured the bios to use the default settings and disabled the XMP profile.
