A single login is valid only for RDP sessions. Multiple users can be created on one machine, allowing switching between accounts locally with different sessions. Remote access requires only one user account. The client OS should support up to 10 network connections for Windows login, provided older versions are still compatible (as with XP). Video streaming services have no restrictions related to Windows login, but you must verify your Plex license terms. No server is necessary; Windows 11 Pro works adequately. The Workstation version is not required.

If the "solidworks" condition isn't tied to a desktop, it should be fine.

It seems your argument hinges on the absence of a need for all users to be in SolidWorks simultaneously. One person working at a time on a desktop system would suffice.

I don't understand. However, my intuition suggests it wouldn't function well for multiple users simultaneously in SoildWorks. This clearly needs a server or workstation with a powerful GPU.

It seems the media server needs might vary from the SolidWorks requirements.

Unless you require realtime video encoding or decoding, the media server demands are quite low.
Solidworks as a 3D modeling tool definitely needs a strong GPU, though.
You can certainly operate both simultaneously with the latest equipment if he also has or plans to get a GPU on the list.

It appears only HP/Dell workstations are officially certified.
However, that doesn't imply SolidWorks won't function on other systems—just hasn't been tested.

It seems there might have been some confusion. Let me rephrase it for clarity:
Could you confirm if the message was about a media server linked to TVs and SolidWorks being run locally on a machine? This would help clarify the situation.

This is precisely what I expected.
I wouldn't consider anything different in a home setting.
