He recently got a new RTX 4070 TI Super but faced problems after drivers were removed by DDU before installation. Once Windows boots, it crashes repeatedly. He managed to install the Nvidia driver but still sees artifacts or blue screens with error codes. What might be causing this?

The GPU was either brand new or previously owned, including open boxes or purchases from third-party sellers. Your friends' full computer specifications are available upon request.

I have a few gigabyte PSU models around 1200W, ASUS ROG Z type LGA1700, 14GB RAM, likely around 14900k. I’ll ask someone to verify it for me. The GPU is brand new, purchased from a reputable EU seller, Gainward Panther edition.

They should verify the power cable connections and ensure everything is securely attached; re-seating the GPU could also help. Running a second DDU and performing a fresh install via GeForce Experience is recommended. As a final option, a complete Windows reinstall might be necessary. If problems persist after these steps, the card may be defective and should be returned or replaced.

He confirmed the setup was correct. I mentioned it might be a software problem. I suggested using a smaller SSD paired with a clean Windows 11 installation and tried it again.

He has already repositioned it and verified the cables. It might be just not seated correctly enough, which could explain why the card functions but still has problems. I’m double-checking since improper seating or a loose power connection often leads to similar issues.

Seems to be the riser cable, GPU functions properly when plugged straight into the motherboard.

If it isn't a PCIE Gen 4 riser cable, the BIOS can switch to Gen 3 and it might function with the riser. However, if it's a Gen 3 cable, remind him to obtain a genuine Gen 4 cable.
