Windows reporting issues with the ASUS Strix X870-F motherboard
I previously purchased a system from Facebook, which was a great offer. After installing a fresh Windows version, I encountered issues when loading into Windows. The Armoury crate and driver download app would start, but the auto-detection failed. Checking System 32 revealed an incorrect Baseboard product—reportedly labeled as Asus B560 HD3, though a quick search indicates it should be a Gigabyte model. The BIOS listed everything correctly, but after flashing, the problem persisted. All other hardware functions properly, and benchmarks confirm performance is normal. It seems the issue lies not in the BIOS itself but in the translation layer between BIOS and OS, possibly involving EFI or SMBIOS. Here are my system details: Asus Strix X870-F, Ryzen 9 7950X CPU, Evga 3090, 64GB DDR5 RAM, 2TB Samsung 990 Pro NVME drive. This information should help clarify the situation. Please advise how to proceed. Thank you.
Always done this way. Verify with HWInfo64 or simply inspect the case for long lists of board names near RAM or graphics slots. https://www.hwinfo.com/download/ The sole items you should download yourself are internet access, graphics card, and CPU chipset. A printer is optional if you still have one from the early 2010s. All other updates should be managed by Windows Update, as this isn't an XP system where external tools are required for driver changes. Intel Network Adapter Driver, Intel Wireless Wi-Fi Driver, Nvidia Driver 572.16, AMD Chipset Drivers.
It keeps displaying the same information. As mentioned earlier, it seems similar to smbios since the BIOS handles everything accurately. I just need to make the system show the right hardware details.
