Hello, I’m writing this for a friend who isn’t very familiar with technology, but I also attempted to resolve the problem. The problem is that only the numbers on the keyboard function, while letters don’t work when he tries to type things like “I rdc” into his PC from any desk. I changed some settings to match what my own machine uses, uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers, but nothing has changed. I’m told it’s a generic cyberpowerpc keyboard, and I remember it worked before the OS was reinstalled, but not since the update by geeksquad. Any advice would be really appreciated.

Did GS own his keyboard or just the PC? Does this happen in every USB port? Have you looked on cyberpowerpc’s site for any special drivers needed? You might also want to check Device Manager to find any unknown devices. Geek Squad typically doesn’t reinstall all system drivers, especially after a clean install from a standard ISO. Even if they verified Device Manager, the keyboard wouldn’t appear if it wasn’t part of the system at the time.

Are you sure the keyboard functions on another machine? Can a different keyboard be used on this system? This helps narrow down the issue quickly.

It was the drivers that kept me half-asleep while I was logged into the PC to attempt a fix. The problem should be fixed soon here.
