Windows reinitializes upon software update.
I attempted to upgrade my PC from Windows 1803 to 1903, but the process failed initially. After some troubleshooting, it became functional again. However, once the computer restarted, it displayed an error stating we couldn't update the system and returned to the 1803 help section.
If possible, save your files and perform a clean installation of Windows. If not, use the Microsoft update utility for upgrading (you don’t remember the exact title). Visit https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software.../windows10 and click "Upgrade now." This will fetch a tool to refresh your system. I’ve succeeded more with that method than with Windows Update alone. Edited November 24, 2019 by Twilight
