I've recently reinstalled Windows about three weeks ago. I downloaded and installed Steam in the same folder as before, verified all game files, but whenever I launch a game, a pop-up asks me to open the Steam launch URL. That’s what bothers me more than the pop-up itself. The real issue is that my drivers don’t recognize the game as a supported 3D app, and AFMF is turned off. If I press Alt+Tab and then Disable/Enable again through the adrenaline menu, it works, but it defaults the GPU to its default settings instead of RAGE. The main question is: how can I stop Windows from repeatedly asking me to open my Steam games? P.S. This only happens with Steam games—doesn’t occur with GoG, BattleNet, or older games from image CDs.

There appears to be an issue with the Steam protocol registries failing to run required commands. Review the registry under HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\steam\Shell\Open\Command and ensure it points to the correct path for steam.exe.

Yes, it's similar, yet it keeps prompting me repeatedly.

Open the Start menu and look for "default apps." Navigate to the settings section. Proceed to the bottom where you can pick default apps by file type. Allow it to finish loading all categories, then scroll to ".URL" and choose "Internet Browser." This should refresh associations and resolve issues. You might also try using a different user account for testing.

I tried several methods but eventually resolved the issue using Microsoft’s support resources. Turned off Recording via GameBar and prevented the controller from triggering GameBar activation. Appreciate the assistance from @Murasaki!
