Recently, I observed that all power profiles on my laptop vanished, leaving only a balanced one. Because the device rests on my desk, I aim to switch it to a more powerful profile. What might have caused this disappearance, and how can I restore them?

No problem at all. Neither the troubleshooter nor Powercfg fixed the issue. Using Powercfg with the GUID adds missing profiles, but running Powercfg -restoredefaultschemes actually removes everything except Balance. It doesn’t fully erase the config—it just hides it from selection.
