Consider your bios when preparing to launch your startup. It might be a bit slow. Verify if the motherboard manufacturer offers the latest firmware updates. The previous version could be dealing with an issue during the Windows setup, something that builds up gradually.

Recent changes. My father installs new software regularly and each time he does, the system restarts and the clock seems to behave oddly. After a few hours it slows down unexpectedly. I’m planning to use Autoruns to check if any program is affecting startup performance. It’s possible the second drive was faulty, but we considered that at the start and removed all drives except the main PCI-e SSD. Still, we’re not sure. Reinstalling Windows temporarily fixes the problem.

The system refreshes itself quietly in the background, but the issue reappears.

Consider skipping the update initially to avoid potential security threats.

Navigate through the steps to manage your settings at your own pace. Save a snapshot of your drive in case issues arise. Press the Windows logo key + R, type gpedit.msc and press OK. Proceed to "Computer Configuration" > "Administrative Templates" > "Windows Components" > "Windows Update". Double-click "Configure Automatic Updates", choose "Disabled" under Configured Automatic Updates on the left, then click Apply and OK to turn off automatic updates.

the "security risk" is greatly overstated; it would likely only last a few days to verify functionality (at first?). - since it does resemble an update issue as noted, that makes sense.
